It had been more than a decade since the world has recognized the urgency of preserving the ozone layer for the protection of the environment. As we speed towards technology and progress, it was observed that we neglected the importance of conserving our natural environment.
The UN in 1995, designated 16 September to commemorate the signing of the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer. This commemoration around the world offers an opportunity to focus attention and action at the global, regional and national levels on the protection of the ozone layer.
